The Free Range is ecologyst’s ultra-versatile egg, providing a shortboard feel in a compact longboard outline. Unlike other board shapes, the egg has an actual inception date, first shaped by surf legend Skip Frye in 1971. Since then, it has become the go-to transitional board for surfers who are getting comfortable riding larger waves. Thus, the Free Range is perfect for intermediate surfers due to its longboard stability with shortboard performance.
Built by ECOBOARD Project-approved shaper Jay Novak, the Free Range is a certified Level One ECOBOARD, as it’s made with plant-based, low-to-zero VOC resin with at least 19% bio-carbon content.
